Is it already Valen-time??

Today is the last day to get the Love you Much Bundle at 20% off, and really, it's the last day to get it in time for Valentine's, and that's cutting it close, let's be honest. So Anywho...I was playing with my set tonight, and I have to say, it's a lovely little set. It would be fund for other times of year as well, not just Valentine's, of course, but when you combine the punch, paper, and stamps it really is a Love-ly bundle...great for a day all about Love...

Excuse my rambling...it's 2:15am!

So here are a few little 3x3 Valentine's that I whipped up for Chase's playgroup buddies. These are more impressive in person, but what can you do.

In this first picture we have two sweet ones. The first is the Candy Lane Designer paper, and I've used the 3 Heart punch, and behind the paper I've used the 3 Heart stamp. The Designer paper is popped, for a 3D effect. The scalloped circle is another stamp, and it's also popped with the center paper-pieced. This paper is two sided...the yellow and small red polka dots on one side, and the Red with Larger yellow polka dots on the other. Cute. The second little card is the birds. Now, normally I am not drawn to birds...nor was I drawn to these little guys at first. but after colouring them, they have a certain sweet appeal...especially when you piece and pop one in the polka dot paper, and add the grass around their feet!
Here we have another variation of the bird card above, only difference really is the window punch on the bottom. The second card here is using the large heart stamp in the set, versamarked once, and then stamped in Ruby Red and popped. This one is actually 2 1/2 in" high, because it has a 1 " bottom and is attached on the top like a little triangle. Did I mention that each Valentine has a chocolate heart taped to the inside? The back of this Valentine has hearts punched out as well.
Here are those little birdies again, neither popped this time, just coloured, and still cute. Those hearts are stamped and punched, and they are really sweet. The Love you Much stamp is sweet as well, accompanied by two of the three punches from the punch...just manouvered so that one is left off.

Happy Birthday Poppy

Today it's Arnold's birthday (Chase and Shaelin's poppy who lives here in town), so this morning, amongst my cleaning and napping with Shaelin...(why not!) I made this card for him. We're giving him tickets for dinner and a movie for him and a date...(wonder who he'll take?! lol), so this little gift card-type holder was perfect. I saw a variation on this at the last Demonstrator's meeting, but there's was a little more structured. As you can see in the next picture, the inside is simply folded up and cut in the middle for easy folding. The one I saw was glued on both ends and in the middle, and was designed for gift tags I believe. Anyways, since these gift cards are just long vouchers rather than an actual card, I changed the structure a little and came up with this.
I love this designer paper. Although it's stripes and could be used on any card, to me it has a masculine feel. It came from the Designer series set Washington Apple. The card is made with Night of Navy paper, the light blue is Brocade Blue, and the yellow is So Saffron. I coloured the cupcake with those inks and a blender pen, and popped the sentiment. The stamp set used is Crazy for Cupcakes, but I think I really need to get some nice new sentiments including a nice birthday one. Hmmm...maybe the new catalogue has what I'm looking for.
Anyways, on the inside I just stamped the balloon in Versamark. The ribbon I used is NOT Stampin' Up, as I have no invested in any SU ribbons yet. I will, but for now, this one has a polka dot that perfectly matches the So Saffron, so I'm happy with that.

Anyways, off to tidy up. We're having the crowd in for chicken tonight to celebrate Arnold's birthday. Hope I'll get more done tonight (maybe some Valentine's or something, thats what I'm aiming for) so I'll post more later tonight...Ihope. :)

Baby Girl

Soooo....of course a new baby in the family means another card to make! And what better reason? Sadie was born today at 3:30 pm, 7 lbs 6 oz, and cute as a button! We had a chance to see her today, so before rushing out the door, I put together this card, which I LOVE. Amazing how sometimes the best ones are the ones that you don't even really have to think about...they're just waiting to be made. this is the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, and I tell ya, there is no greater tool when using this set than a Stamp-a-ma-jig. And sooo easy to use! I was amazed...mine sat in the box for about 2 months and I broke it out the other night, and I'm not sure how I ever did without it! Anyways, I love these butterflies, and how they are stamped off center of the white paper. The Deisgner series paper is the Raspberry Tart set. The colours used here are Cameo Coral (getting a LOT of use of that one lately), and Rose Red. The Unique stamp is from Define Your Life. I don't get a lot of use from that set, and I'm not sure why, because its a great set. I should use it more often, but I sort of forget about it. But it definetly fits here, because anyone who knows Colin and Lori would definetly describe them as unique...in a good way, of course! So here's my card....this one might have to go into another party I think...I just love looking at it. :) Good night all... :)

My brand-spankin'-new beautiful little niece Sadie. Welcome to the world, little girl. :) Ain't she cute?!

Slider Card

So I was up pretty late last night because I was having a wickedly creative night...(although much of what I did was cased!) And I think this card takes the...well...cupcake! (cheesy, I know!) This card is totally cased from a card my upline, Cheryl, made to bring to our last meeting. Since I had some requests from my stamp club to do some birthday cards, I decided I wouldn't even change the stamp set that Cheryl used, just the colours and style a little. This set is soo super cute. It's called Crazy for Cupcakes. The colours I used here were the same in inks and papers - Baja Breeze, Chocolate chip, and Very Vanilla. The only other ink was rose red for the cherries! Then the cupcake icing was covered in sprinkles (Dazzling Diamonds). I guess you're wondering why theres a little cut out on the top of the card? Have a look at the next picture....(love this!)........

Here's what the card does...although I won't go into great detail, I will say that it works with a plastic bag!! lol Here's a link for a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers...man, that website is truely awesome. You can see it here. Anyways, you pull up on the top flap through the hole in the front (I need to add a ribbon for easy grasping), and the top and bottom slide out together. Sooooo cute!

Sweet Stems 2

While I was trying to figure out how to put the other card together, I made the squares too big originally to fit four of them nicely on the one card. So I came up with this quick, easy and cute card. Same ingredients as above...and again, loving this stamp set.

Sweet Stems

Well, today my stamp set that I pre-ordered from the new catalogue arrived, and I'm so excited because I've been DYING to play with this one. It's called Sweet Stems, and as you can see, they are adorable! It's a set of four stamps for 19.95, and totally worth every penny. This is one of the cards I'll be doing for my upcoming class on Tuesday night. It's actually cased from a card I saw at the demonstrators meeting last Sunday at Kay's, and if I'm not mistaken, I think it came from a swap at the Leadership Conference that she went to in Florida. The colours are Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red. The Designer Series paper is from the Raspberry Tart set. Love this set of Designer papers, they have some really pretty papers in there. The 'Thank you So Very Much' is from Flight of the Butterfly.

I hope they like it next week!

Anniversary card

Darren and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary back in November, and it was just in time to try out this new idea for a card that I got from Michael Strong of tv weekly. It's called a Shadow Box card. It's actually quite easy to make. The stamp set used is Priceless, and the colours are basic grey and blue bayou. As you can see, inside is a picture of Darren and I the first year we were dating, down in Sandy Cove. The sentiment inside is Curvy Verses, and it says "You're a wonderful reason to celebrate". I love this card...and card with a real personal touch like this is always fun. hmmm....how am I gonna follow this one up next year?!

The Reveal!

This is the picture that you got a preview of earlier....it's a coaster holder! I love the look of this Eastern Bloom Rub-on, from the Hidden Garden set on this black woodem holder. Gorgeous!

Part 2, the Reveal!

I showed you a preview earlier, which was the front of this coaster holder. Here's the finished product. I've taken these picture coasters which you can pick up pretty well anywhere these days, and I've added these beautiful rub-ons to the coasters. The ones I like best are the ones with text...Chase and Darren on the wharf with "forever your friend", and then Chase and Shaelin with "you're so sweet". The white flowers really pop as well.

SNEAK PEAK!

So I'm working on some other fun projects now too. I'm having a workshop here on the 4th, and I wanted to show the versatility of the Stampin' Up products. So I'm having some fun with the Rub-ons, embossing powder, and some things you wouldn't expect! Here's a sneak peak of one of the projects I've done...it's really cute....stay tuned and check back later to see what I've done here. Happy Birthday Lori and Marlo!

Yesterday was my Sister-in-Law and my niece's birthdays. This was the card I made for my sister in law, Lori. I made it like a post card, so the back is where I put the greeting. I LOVE love love this designer paper, and I was so relieved that they didn't retire it after the Winter Catalogue, like they did with a bunch of other stuff I had bought to show at my workshops! lol This comes from the Washington Apple Designer paper set. The paper is Pumpkin Pie, and the red patterned paper came from a Simply Scrappin' set I had bought, which is unfortunately, now retired. The Stamps are from Flight Of the Butterfly (Beautiful set) and stamped in Really Rust. This was a quick, fun card to make. I'll show you another variation in a future post. :)

Card Swap

Our previous meeting for Stampin' Up demonstrators was on Sunday past, and we had a card swap which was absolutely beautiful! We did 23 cards each and got back 22 different ones. The one here is my card. It's made with one of the new Hostess Sets, Itty Bitty Buds...the stem and flower are seperate and you can mix and match. Very cute. You can't really tell here, but the flower is popped and the center has Dazzling Diamonds in it. The 'Friend to Friend" is from the Love you Much set. The colours used here are Riding Hood Red, which is an "in colour" (only avail until June), Cameo Coral is the scalloped paper and the flower itself, and the Deisgner paper is from the set Raspberry Tart from the new Catalogue. The stem is stamped in Old Olive ink. You'll see some of the other cards in upcoming posts.

Gotta go, I have a unhappy fan in my arms right now....LOL

Card Swap

We did two make-and-takes at the last meeting we had. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what stamp set this is, but I believe it's from the Sale-a-bration set. I believe kay designed this card as well.

Card Swap

Here is one of the Make-and-Take projects that we did at our Demonsrators meeting this Sunday past. It's pink piroette paper, as well as the designer paper to match. The flowers are from a stamp set that is available through the Sale-a-bration promotion. And the Thank you is the New elegant Thank you, a single stamp that you can buy from the new Catalogue. I'm pretty sure that Kay designed this card.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well...almost. Sort of.

Anyways! Here's a little something that I whipped up before heading out to our Stampin' Up Demonstrator's meeting yesterday. It's a Valentine gift box (Idea from the Stampin' Up Demonstrator's catalogue, Stampin Sucess, Feb issue), complete with Kisses wrapped in celophane for the inside! I've been getting a lot of use from my Simply Said stamp set the last few days...maybe because it's so pretty and valentine-ish. I've also gotten a lot of use from my Cameo Coral inks and papers. This little box is 4 1/2 inches high and 2 inches wide. So easy to make! The base is just some chocolate chip cut with the scallop edge punch, as is the handle. The scallop circle is a stamp from the Love you Much bundle, which is on sale until January 31st for 20% off...see here . There were some GORGEOUS show's at the meeting...I'll probably be casing some of them later this week!! :)

Colours used are Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Cameo Coral. Paper is Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip.

Here is a fun card that I cased from a card I saved to my computer back in November. I'm sorry, I don't know who made the original,(if you do-let me know!). It's using the Simply Said stamp set. I just love making my own designer paper! It's so much fun and adds such a touch of originality to a card, (in this case, it's just not MY originality! lol)

The colours here are cameo coral, always artichoke and elegant eggplant.

Typing is not the easiest with a 6 month old in my arms, let me tell you! I can type pretty well without looking at the keys or screen, and it's a good thing, because she is getting smarter! If she notices that I'm looking to the left of her and not making eye contact when she's sitting on my lap, she moves to the left and grins! She's pretty good at it too! So the backspace button is sure getting a work-out today....but it's still easier than her banging on keys. I learned that lesson when she closed a facebook Event before I finished posting it!! lol

Ok, first card...this is a nice easy one. One level, no embellishments, as as the title of the stamp set says...Simply Said. This set offers so much in the way of simple elegant cards.

Welcome to my NEW BLOG!

My old blog, while it still holds a place in my heart, was my way of seeing if I was ready to step up my cardmaking to a semi-proffessional level. After deciding I was, I got involved with Stampin' Up, and now I've decided that my Stampin' Up Abilities have finally reached a level where I feel comfortable sharing them again.

So here I am...ready to start anew. I hope you'll join me! :)
